Omar is a great artist with amazing skills. I went in with a octopus tattoo on my left forearm looking for a design to complete the sleeve. We had an in person meetup consult and discussed ideas and basic concepts. About a week later we had a follow up consult and Omar had a great design drawn up. We tweaked a few ideas and tossed in some additional details to tie everything together. I ended up doing two days back to back to get the entire sleeve finished. I did use a numbing, recommended by Omar and it helped a lot. Tattoos, especially larger ones can be painful and while the cream helped you can never eliminate all discomfort. I am super happy with the end result and highly recommend Omar if you are considering a project for your tattoo art. ~ John G

If you’re looking to get tatted, OMAR IS THE GUY TO GO TO!!! The entire process of getting tatted was fantastic. He was able to give me the entire layout of how we’re gonna do this and worked DILIGENTLY in such a short time!!! Being that this was my first tattoo, I was very nervous coming into it, but Omar was able to make me and my mom watching from the sidelines, EXTREMELY comfortable!! Was gentle handed and you could tell how bad he wanted to put his all into this tattoo and I appreciate it to the max!!! The service and the other artists were amazing and really cool and overall just a great experience!! I had a great experience with Dominick Medina. He did an amazing job on my tattoo—the line work is clean, precise, and exactly what I wanted. He has a very gentle hand, which made the whole process much more comfortable than I expected. What stood out most was his attention to detail. He replaced the stencil multiple times to make sure the placement was perfect instead of rushing into the tattoo. You can tell he genuinely cares about the quality of his work and wants his clients to leave happy. Just had a cover up piece done by Martin Robertson on 3/13 & I couldn’t be more impressed. I gave him an idea of what I had in mind and he nailed it. The tattoo came out even better than the original idea I had in mind. Everything from consultation, to the actual tattoo being done was seamless and easy. The vibe is super chill and I was super relaxed for this being my first real piece of art. Martin was super easy going and easy to talk to, as well as super professional. He has 35 years of experience in tattooing and really knows what he’s doing. 10/10 would recommend to anyone! Also met Omar during consultation and he was also very detailed in explaining the process and details of everything and answered all questions I had. I had been looking for an artist to get a forearm sleeve done, for almost a year. I had a very specific style that I wanted to get, so I didn't mind spending countless hours “Googling” what felt like every artist from Tampa to Orlando. After narrowing it down and interviewing a handful of artists, I came across the “Socrates Ink” webpage and Omar’s portfolio. In his portfolio, I found the exact style I was looking for and immediately scheduled a consultation. On the day of the consultation, 10 minutes into the consultation I realized that I had found the perfect artist for my forearm sleeve. He was open to working with me and shared my ideas and visions. I liked and respected the fact that he let me know, upfront, what worked and wouldn’t work as best, regarding the tattoo placement. Omar ensured that my vision was transposed onto the canvas. My sister and I are not Tampa locals but while we were in Tampa for her doctor’s appointment, we wanted to get matching sister tattoos. My sister has stage 4 breast cancer at 36 years old and is not expected to live the next couple years. We wanted to go somewhere that would understand the reason behind the tattoo and that’s just what we got. Martin was our artist and he was friendly, professional and made the process quick, easy and fun. Victor was absolutely amazing! As this being my first tattoo I was extremely nervous but Victor made me feel comfortable with his calming personality and he is also extremely patient, you can tell how much he loves his job just by the way he interacted with us, even though we didn’t have appointments and went as walk ins he didn’t mind staying back late with us and kept a positive attitude throughout the whole process. Just a great place to get work done. The experience from start to finish is nothing but relaxing and comfortable from the design to the ink. Got my first piece done by Omar and already have my next scheduled with Martin. When you can go into a place and they’re comfortable saying no if this is the piece you want really talk to this artist. They work very well off of each other and use the combined experience of the shop for the best idea. If you’re looking for a shop stop but and at least check them out highly recommended. ~ Dan H

Had an amazing experience here at Socrates ink gallery! The staff (Omar Cruze) was friendly and very professional. He gave me some of the best tattoos I've ever gotten in Tampa. The vibe in the shop was on point I felt super chill the whole session. The pricing is great also ,definitely the best value for your dollar here at Socrates ink gallery. Omar Crux is the man. I researched portfolios for weeks before deciding to make the 3 hour round trip to Socrates Ink. Omar could not have been more collaborative and greatly improved upon my original concept. The tattoo commemorates my 5.5 month hike of the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) from Mexico to Canada.
